Emma Watson is courting an Oxford student, Matthew Janney, but the Harry Potter star is making sure that they will have a bolt-hole on the other side of the Atlantic.

Mandrake hears that the 23-year-old actress is looking to buy a flat in New York. On Monday, she was spotted viewing properties in a new Manhattan building. “It has apartments priced at up to $15 million [£9.6 million],” reports my man in New York.

Watson has been courting Janney, who is studying modern and medieval languages at Oriel College, since Christmas.

Last summer, she split up with Will Adamowicz, with whom she had stepped out for two years.
